Meet Reveille
Exciting, enthusiastic, and always entertaining, Reveille qualified for the BHS International barbershop competition in its very first year, and is the 2002 Mid-Atlantic District quartet champions and multiple International competitor. A versatile quartet, Reveille commands a repertoire remarkable in its variety, ranging from traditional ballads, to original comedy, to Sinatra, to contemporary swing, and featuring hot charts from a variety of top arrangers, many from the fertile brain of the late great Roger Payne, the quartet’s original tenor.
Oh, by the way – have we mentioned we have our CD “Blowing Our Own Horn” available for sale?
Fern Sicilia, Tenor – Fern is brand new to Reveille. While he is a young and talented singer, he is also an experienced musician and performer. Fern is a high school music teacher/choral director, accomplished instrumentalist and experienced quartet singer. We count ourselves lucky to have Fern join us and add his own brand of youthful energy and craziness to the “Reveille Experience”.
John Ward, Lead -- A Singing Judge candidate, John is a four-time District Quartet Champion and a veteran of the Scarborough Dukes Chorus during their heyday. He also serves as the Big Apple Chorus Lead Section leader. Doctor Ward is a chiropractor, with a practice at his office in midtown Manhattan.
Mark Paul, Bass -- Bass Section Leader at the Big Apple Chorus and a vocal coach for both men’s (SPEBSQSA) and women’s (SAI) quartets and choruses, Mark avidly pursues advanced vocal training himself. He is a former Bass Section Leader and Music Vice President of the gold-medal West Towns Chorus in Lombard, Illinois. When he's not singing or coaching, Mark works as a Leadership trainer/consultant.
Joe Hunter, Baritone – Joe is a Presentation judge and current Category Specialist. A nationally certified chorus director trainer, Joe serves as Musical Director of the Big Apple Chorus. He is the former lead of International Finalist quartet Four Under Par, former baritone of Variety Pak, former Musical Director of Long Island’s Twin Shores chorus, and is a busy chorus and quartet coach. In the real world, Joe is a Vice President of software development for JPMorgan Chase Bank.
We would be remiss if we did not mention that we recently lost founding member, arranger extraordinaire and friend Roger Payne to an extended illness – the quartet has dedicated its ongoing performances to spreading the joy of barbershop harmony that was so clearly his legacy.
Come say hello to us out in the lobby after the show!! (and did we mention we still have a few CDs left for sale?)
